10/27/2010    'CanWEA 2010'  Canada’s largest renewable energy event begins next week November 1 – 3, 2010

Montreal, October 27, 2010

What: 
The Canadian Wind Energy Association's 26th Annual Conference and Exhibition - CanWEA 2010 - will be held in Montreal, Quebec, November 1 - 3 at the Montreal Congress Center. The Conference and Exhibition will feature wind energy experts, over 250 exhibiting wind energy organizations and the opportunity to network with industry professionals. In addition, CanWEA will release the results of a comprehensive study on the economic impacts of the wind energy industry and will unveil a strategic report tailored for Quebec’s energy sector titled WindVision 2025: A Strategy for Québec.

Why:
CanWEA's 26th Annual Conference and Exhibition will bring together over 2,500 international delegates to have meaningful exchanges on the fastest growing new source of energy in the US and the European Union. Canada is projected to end 2010 with 754 MW of new wind energy capacity - representing $1.7 billion in new investments; this will bring Canada's total installed wind energy capacity to 4,073 MW, enough power to meet the needs of over 1.4 million homes annually. 
How to participate:

Public admission: CanWEA will open its exhibition doors to the general public on Wednesday, November 3 from 9am to 12:30pm. Cost of entry is $20 per person; advance registration for the general public is not required.

Students: A special student rate of 300 $ is available for those with a valid student ID. Student admission includes access to all the sessions, the exhibition floor, CanWEA reception, three continental breakfasts and two lunches over the course of the conference.

Media: For full access to the media centre, plenary sessions, presentation venues, workshops and tradeshow floor, media representatives are asked to complete the application for accreditation at:
