What: Canada's largest renewable energy event hosts over 250 wind energy manufacturers, developers and strategic service providers at its annual 3-day show. Programming will include information sessions with Canadian and international business leaders, networking opportunities and tours of wind facilities.
Where:

Beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia at The Vancouver Convention Centre – which lays claim to the title of the only two-time winner of the AIPC award as the 'World's Best Convention Centre".

Vancouver Convention Centre, West Building
1055 Canada Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6C 0C3

www.vancouverconventioncentre.com

When:

October 3 – 6, 2011.

General Public Hours – October 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why: Wind Energy is the fastest growing major source of renewable energy in the world. British Columbia ranks sixth provincially in installed wind energy capacity, despite being the last Canadian province to add a utility-scale wind project to its electricity grid. Existing provincial energy policy is very supportive of renewable energy, and BC's wind resources are very competitive with other new generation options, with six new projects set for completion by 2014. Moreover, updated projections now indicate BC is on the cusp of a large and rapid increase for energy demand. CanWEA will unveil its new WindVision for BC at the conference - a strategic plan to 2025 that will highlight the need for, and benefits of, large-scale wind energy development in British Columbia.
How:

On-line application for media accreditation allows full access to the media centre, plenary sessions, presentation venues, workshops and tradeshow floor.
