CanWEA Seminar Series

Wind Energy Occupational Health and Safety Seminar
Quebec City, Quebec
February 24-25, 2010

No one ever plans on getting hurt when they go to work – accidents, as unfortunate as they are, do however occur. CanWEA and its members have a desire to formalize and strengthen best practices with respect to health and safety in the wind energy workplace, with a goal to minimize the possibility of accidents going forward. With this in mind, what role does our industry have to play in minimizing risk of injury? What role does the government and arms length agencies such as WSIB play? This seminar will: examine the legislation behind health and safety in the workplace; examine the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders involved in the wind industry; and, examine specific issues that our industry faces.

Who should attend?

  • Safety professionals/industrial hygienists
  • Project managers /developers
  • Owners and operators
  • Government representatives
