Description :
This 1½ day event will explore a path forward in the development of utility-scale wind energy projects on Aboriginal lands and with Aboriginal people across Canada. This practically-oriented workshop will look at the nature of the relationship between developers, governments and Aboriginals across Canada, and explore the social, economic and policy issues that will influence the growth of wind on Aboriginal lands: What is the duty to consult? What does experience tell us about developing energy projects on Aboriginal lands? What are the legal and regulatory issues in various jurisdictions? Participants will learn about the perspectives and priorities of each stakeholder and examine ways of collaborating to the benefit of all.
