In April 2010, CanWEA will be holding its first ever Wind Energy Forum. This two day event will bring together over 350 wind professionals to discuss the latest developments and emerging best practices in the wind energy industry. The Forum will take the format of a mini-conference, offering three separate tracks:
- Community Engagement
- Wind Project Siting
- Wind Resource Assessment and Performance.
Just Announced
Hon. Brad Duguid, Ontario Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, will speak as part of the Forum’s opening plenary on Tuesday, April 13th from 9:00 to 10:00 am
Hon. John Gerretsen, Ontario Minister of the Environment, will address attendees during the networking reception on Tuesday, April 13th starting at 5:00 pm
Special Presentation: Wind Turbine Sound and Human Health
April 14th from 10:30 to 12:00 – Industry Response on Emerging Issues
Dr. Robert J. McCunney will discuss the findings of the international review on the subject of wind turbine sound and human health.
Dr. Robert J. McCunney, MD, MPH, MS, is a lead panel member of the joint AWEA-CanWEA review on Wind Turbine Sound and Human Health. He is board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine as a specialist in occupational and environmental medicine. Dr. McCunney is also a staff physician at Massachusetts General Hospital’s pulmonary division, where he evaluates and treats occupational and environmental illnesses, including lung disorders ranging from asbestosis to asthma to mold related health concerns, among others. He is also a lecturer at Harvard Medical School and a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Biological Engineering, where he participates in epidemiological research pertaining to occupational and environmental health hazards.
