Program
In this year's main conference (Monday October 20 to Wednesday October 22), speaker sessions will be divided into three "tracks" that reflect different areas of interest within the wind industry. Track 1 will focus on "Growing Wind in Canada", Track 2 will focus on "Trends in Wind R&D", and Track 3 will explore "The Business of Wind".
In addition, on Sunday October 19th there will be a half-day pre-conference session covering the technical, practical and policy aspects of small wind energy systems. Click on the "Program" buton below for details.

CanWEA will also present annual awards in the following categories:
GROUP LEADERSHIP AWARD
First awarded in 2001, the Group Leadership Award is awarded to an organization (e.g., Government Department, corporation, non-profit organization) that has, through its efforts, significantly advanced the wind energy industry in Canada. Our 2007 winner was Bullfrog Power.
INDIVIDUAL LEADERSHIP AWARD
First awarded in 2003, the Individual Leadership Award is awarded to an individual who has, through their own efforts, significantly advanced the wind energy industry in Canada. Our 2007 winner was Gilles Lefrançois from Innergex.
R.J. TEMPLIN AWARD
First awarded in 1985, the R.J. Templin Award is now awarded to any individual or organization who has undertaken scientific, technical, engineering or policy work that has significantly advanced the wind energy industry in Canada. Our 2007 winner was the Radio Advisory Board of Canada.
Trade Show Open to the Public
For the first time ever, the CanWEA Annual Conference and Trade Show will be opening its doors to the general public. On Tuesday October 21st, 2008 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, we will be allowing the public to access the Trade Show area. This is a great opportunity to educate Canadians on the importance of wind energy and to enlighten them on the future of renewable energy.
